Just putting it out there. Vegeta Korean and Goten Korean voice are the best for those characters. Not even nostalgia. It's a fact in MY opinion (twisting words lol).

Freeza's Korean and Spanish voices also fail.

His Korean one makes Linda Young sound like Smaug by comparison, making Freeza make this cute little noble woman sounding character

Spanish Dub gives Freeza this baritone voice that sounds brutish

Favorites:

Masako Nozawa (Original Jp Goku/Gohan/Goten/Bardock)- She's the only voice actor who correctly portrays Goku's personality on screen.

Brian Drummond (Vegeta- Ocean Dub): Particularly in early DBZ, when Vegeta was a raging psycho. He didn't really fit him later in the series, and for that, I'd have to go with Sabat for Cell and Boo Arcs.

LittleKuriboh (Freeza- TFS Abridged): Even though this isn't an official series, he really gave Freeza that regal midget a**hole sound, which is perfect for his character.

Chris Rager (FUNI Mr. Satan): No comparison. I loved him as Mr. Satan.

Least Favorites:

Sean Schemmel (FUNI Goku): He did better in Kai, but he still doesn't portray Goku's personality correctly. Goku's not heroic or eloquent, he's fun-loving and dumb. The "ally to good" speech was epic, but it's not Goku. His voice isn't a bad fit, it's just the way he speaks while he voices Goku is completely wrong.
But regardless, Schemmel doesn't hold a candle to "bad casting choice" when it comes to who-ever the heck voiced Goku in the Big Green dub.

Stephanie Nadolny (FUNI Young Goku/Gohan): I hated her chain smoking voice. It was terrible. At least Colleen Clinkenbeard made KAI Gohan sound like a regular little kid.
I'd just like to point out that I think Goku was more 'American-ized' in our versions of DBZ. You're right, his original character is not some 'super-hero', but I think Schemmel does a good job for Goku. I don't mean to be biased either, I am not a Goku fanboy by any means.
I agree, and sometimes the actual voice actors aren't to blame for a bad script or "out-of-character" lines, it's the script writer or the line producer.

But Schemmel could've made him a bit more "hick-like"... I don't see the problem as long as the flaps would've matched up. ("Flaps" is the official showbiz lingo for "mouth movements" of animated characters).

I personally think that the voice actor that plays Kid Trunk in the Kai Boo Arc is pretty good. They seem to fit the character well.

I do agree with you, he could've been a bit more like he was in the Japanese anime and manga, but I still enjoy his character in Funi's Kai (Mainly). I really enjoyed him during his fight with Freeza.

Yeah, he does seem a lot more intelligent than his character should be, yeah, I agree the script was more of the issue here, I still think Schemmel does a good job for him. He may be portrayed quite differently in the English version than the Japanese, but Schemmel seems to actually take his role seriously (More so in Kai) and I think his acting is high quality (especially compared to other VAs in the English dubs).

I guess I just can't see the English version of Goku as some 'dumb hick-fighting genius' as he was in the Japanese version, I think he is a great protagonist in both versions... Again, I'm no Goku fanboy.

Opinions, opinions.... what DBZ forums are about =].

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

LEAST FAVORITE: Ocean dub Vegeta. It is the equivalent of fingers on a chalkboard. AHHHHH!!!!

Brian Drummond as Vegeta, correct? He sounded so irritating.

D'awwww.... I though Drummond rocked for Saiyan/Namek arc Vegeta, he fit the evil warrior really well for me. I can't see him being a good fit past that though, I don't see his voice fitting a 'less-evil/good' Vegeta at all.

Had an awesome maniacal laugh, in my opinion.
